In 2023, Virgin Australia introduced in-app baggage tracking for domestic flights.
Great news: that's now working for Virgin's international flights as well.
Passengers on flights to Queenstown, Bali, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu and Japan can now track their baggage throughout their journey.
The Virgin app will notify you when your bag has been loaded onto the plane, and again when it's at the carousel at your destination.
Of course, you'll need a roaming SIM or free airport Wi-Fi to get the notifications, but it's still very handy.
According to Virgin, 1.3 million Australians have used the service on domestic flights since launch.
With Australian Survivor back on air, might be time for me to book a flight to Samoa . . .
