| LATEST NEWS: How poor are ALDI’s April 2026 vinyl special buys? |
So earlier this week I wrote up a scathing commentary on ALDI’s latest special buys vinyl records, all of which were radio broadcast rips of questionable quality.
Clearly the average ALDI buyer is a lot less fussy than I am.
When I popped into my local ALDI on Saturday, there were just 2 discs left from the latest batch. And as you can see in the picture, they had already been marked down to $13.99.
This is a strategy ALDI store managers use when they want to quickly clear remaining stock from Special Buys – but normally they wait more than a week before doing so.
That said, if there’s just a couple of items left, it’s better to get rid of them as fast as possible. That’s particularly important with vinyl, I’d think, which is likely to get damaged if it’s not stacked on its own.
Bottom line? The fact these records are dubious quality clearly does not stop them selling. I hope the buyers enjoy them. But when the next round goes on sale, I’ll be back to critique them as usual.
