Gallery: Virgin Australia’s new Business menu

Virgin has updated the in-flight menu for its Business passengers.

Per the PR gumpf, “Made from locally sourced Australian produce, the menu features popular dishes from a host of global origins, including modern Japanese, Indian, Mexican, Italian and western dishes, ensuring there is a range of options to suit varying tastes.”

Here’s the list of new menu options:

  • Corn fritters with goat cheese and capsicum relish
  • Cheese and chive crumpet with bacon, scrambled eggs and beans
  • Pumpkin gnocchi, creamy pesto with optional chorizo
  • Soba noodle salad with chicken and teriyaki dressing
  • Cheese tortellini Caesar salad with optional prosciutto
  • Sweet pork belly with rice and vegetables
  • Goat cheese with apricot and sumac amuse bouche
  • Mango coconut cake
  • White chocolate and macadamia cake

And here they are in full-colour glory, looking better than you’ll ever actually see them on a plane:

I haven’t flown Virgin Australia in Business class in a couple of years, and I’d probably only do so if I could score a reward seat on a longer flight (think Perth or Cairns). In that somewhat unlikely event, I’d be going for the cheese tortellini Caesar salad, but without prosciutto.
